The Royal Wedding: Do you care?

AS we dangle on the cusp of the biggest royal event in 30 years, we’re wondering how you feel about the Big Day?

From the postman to the Prime Minister, the Royal Wedding is said to be everyone’s favourite water cooler topic. Who will design Kate’s dress? What will William’s stag do be like? How much say does the Queen have? Then again, who cares?

The constant onslaught of information regarding not only the wedding, but every minute detail about the future princess has taken over our TVs, newspapers, and magazines. Next time you’re standing waiting to cross the street, take a minute and listen – the likelihood is someone standing within earshot will be talking about it too.

Do you care what sweets Kate Middleton is gorging on whilst no one is looking? Sure, it’s fun to know how Harry feels about his future sister-in-law, but who are we to gossip about the fact that she may or may not have gone to a psychic against the Queen’s better judgement?

Come to think of it, the Royal Wedding has afforded us all an extra bank holiday this year and perhaps this is the price we have to pay for another four-day weekend in spring. We’ll all be tuned in to watch the ceremony, but will you be tuning out until then? Vote and rant…

Can't understand all the fuss.

There were no bank holidays or street parties for The Princess Royal when she got married.

It's almost as if the BBC, its masters in Downing Street and their master Rupert Murdoch are trying to distract us all from more serious things, like us all being robbed by the rich and the super-rich.

Hip-hip-hip Hooray!April 5th 2011.

I wonder if the Tories will do their usual Christmas trick and wheel out some repulsive oily Scrooge from the C.B.I. to tell us off for having Christmas as a bank holiday and how it is OUR fault that he and his cronies aren't any richer than they already are.

I suspect not.

No, I will be not watching the event!
