We have specially selected a range of premium local cheeses for you to enjoy, all accompanied by our homemade chutney, celery and artisan biscuits. From our ‘Best of the North’ range, sample a mouth-watering trio of cheeses or choose fve for a real taste adventure.
Dewlay Garstang Blue
A uniquely rich, mellow and indulgent blue cheese with a velvety smooth texture that is creamy in colour with blue veins radiating from the rind. Dewlay is one of the largest cheese manufacturers in the North of England based in the market town of Garstang for over 50 years.
Mrs Kirkham’s Smoked
A mild, smoked cheese with a crumbly moist texture and a tangy favour
Mrs Appleby’s Cheshire
Hand-made, cloth-wrapped and made using skills and instincts that have been honed over half a century. Golden orange in colour with a crumbly texture and tongue-tickling favour
Cooleeney
A white mould-ripened soft cheese made using vegetarian rennet from raw or pasteurized milk. The favour when ripe is robust and creamy to buttery in texture with a unique mushroomy tanginess
Butler’s Trottershill Tasty
A fully matured, rinded Lancashire cheese from Butler’s Barns. Pale yellow in colour and crumbly with a rich savoury taste
Butler’s Kidderton Ash
A soft goats cheese rolled in ash from the Ravens Oak Dairy in Cheshire. Kidderton Ash has a creamy, nutty favour and a soft delicate texture
Butler’s Blacksticks White
A soft and creamy white cheese with subtle blue veining, milder in favour than Blacksticks blue
