Liverpool city councillors have decided to keep Seel Street one-way, but in the opposite direction.
When the switch comes in, it will mean traffic entering Seel Street from Berry Street.
Blue Angel owner Mike Kearon welcomed the decision. He told Liverpool Confidential: "We would have preferred Seel Street to return to two-way traffic, but at least the bars in Seel Street will no longer be cut off from traffic.
"We are delighted the councilllors listened to our concerns."
It's likely a revised one-way system will itself be reviewed afteer a period of time. Club owners said blocking entry to the road at Berry Street had badly hit business.
