Schoolboys charged with attempted murder

FOUR schoolboys have been charged with attempted murder and violent disorder following a serious assault in Anfield, on Monday evening.

The teenagers (two aged 14 years and two aged 13 years), all from Walton, have appeared at Liverrpool North Community Justice Centre today.

Police were called to reports of an assault in an alleyway off Priory Road, at around 7pm on Monday. When they arrived they found a 19-year-old male victim who had received a knife wound to his leg.

He was taken to hospital where his condition remains critical.

The victim is thought to have been chased into the Liver Launderette on Priory Road by a gang before running out of the back of the store and into the alleyway where he was stabbed.

DCI Andy O'Connor, said: "We believe the victim was chased across Priory Road by a number of other males, described as teenagers, before being attacked in the alley way.”

A 15-year-old male from Walton who was arrested on suspicion of attempt murder has been released on police bail pending further inquiries. And a 12-year-old male and 14-year-old male (both from Walton) who were arrested earlier today remain in police custody where they are being interviewed by detectives.

Pardon me if I am wrong but surely Merseyside Police do not use tape marked "Police Line Do Not Cross". If I'm right why use an American photo?
