BOLD street was awash with fervor this afternoon as Abi Titmuss arrived at Waterstones for a book signing.
However, the gusto was emitting not from the fans outside the book shop, but rather a shoe shop's closing down sale up the road.
The multi-talented author had been due at 12:30pm to sign copies of her second book, but a legion of seven fans was left waiting until after 1pm for the nurse-cum-model-cum-actress to arrive.
In “pole position”, was Keith who was clutching a copy of The Secret Diaries of Abi Titmuss.
"Since I saw her on Love Island I've thought she was a bit of alright," he revealed.
The other six people in the queue were clearly in agreement, including Mark (pictured, right).
The real excitement though was at Scholl where scenes were reminiscent of a Primark opening.
Both young and old didn't seem much interested in the A-lister up the road but rather with snapping up a bargain pair of comfy sandals to see off the bunions.
Meanwhile, Titmouse, as she is affectionately known, greeted the army of microphones with professional aplomb and went on to tell of an up and coming role in Hotel Babylon. "I play a nun", said Abi. "Obviously it's not a cameo".
Obviously.

Another speciality shop closes its Liverpool branch. You have to travel Chester now if you want to shop at Culpeper. I blame the City Council and its policies.
Well as they say in the theatre, the scholl must go on! Are you sure they really are her diaries, remember what happened to Hugh Trevor-Roper. (Didn't he used to be Historian on The Comedians, you remember "Me Wellies, yis" or am I confusing another great writer and philosopher Bertrand Manning)
Aah Bertrand Manning. One of my favourite philosophers. 'If a puppy was born in a stable it wouldn't make it a horse'. God rest his soul. Anyone know what that other philosopher from Liverpool is up to these days? Somebody must know what Ken Dodge is up to. Is he shacked up with Abi Titmouse?
Only the seaman's dispensary after a night reading Titmuss's book.
Who is Abbi Titmuss?
