ONE of the main galleries in the new Museum of Liverpool is set to feature something called a “football immersive experience”, exploring and celebrating the city’s passion for the game, and its fans.
It will be enhanced by a film which asks the question Are you red? Or are you blue? And, say the curators, it wouldn’t be complete without an insight into Derby Day, along with authentic fans.
So, on Monday 1 November, the Museum of Liverpool is offering fans of both colours the chance to be part of a project that demonstrates the city’s love of the game in recreating a Derby Day.
It would never happen in Glasgow.
Said a spokesman: “We need fans of the red and blue variety to join us as filming takes place for a scene of fans walking to the match for an evening game.
“The film will feature in the Museum of Liverpool for some years to come, so we can’t have recent strips or names of famous players on show. Retro strips, scarves, hats and non descriptive clothes are fine, and it will be cold so wrap up warmly in hats and scarves of your team colour!”
If you’re interested in taking part, filming will take place at a location in Liverpool to be confirmed, and you will need to arrive between 5:30 – 6pm and be available for at least a couple of hours.
Reds and blues of all ages can get in touch with Katie Louise Brown for further information on how to get involved by emailing her here or calling 0151 478 4069.
