Everton home kit revealed

EVERTON Football Club have revealed their new home kit for the next season, and it remains a classic royal blue. The new strip is the first to be released following the announcement of Everton's five-year partnership with Umbro.

The Goodison side says the new strip celebrates the long and successful history between the two. It is inspired by its kit of 1924, the year Umbro was founded and the year Everton won the Barcelona Cup in Spain, wearing royal blue shirts, white shorts and blue socks.

The kit top, in royal blue, features a woven grandad collar in dark navy with a concealed top button. The kit is also designed to have technical advantages including reduced friction, moisture-wicking properties and also die-cut ventilation holes. The top eyelet on each side of the shirt is in the shape of the Toffee Tower.

"The fans, players and staff make up the fabric of this football club and I am proud to be considered a part of that," said Everton Manager Roberto Martinez.

"Umbro has created a unique technical kit which I’m sure both players and fans will be proud to wear. It has been inspired by our Club’s glorious past, however its quality and design are very much for the modern day era and I remain confident it will help us to perform to our full potential on the pitch in the Premier League and in Europe."

Defender John Stones said: "The shirt is a great fit and the material is really nice. It is a different collar and I know all the boys like it and it should be a hit with the fans this season.

He continued: "Umbro_Everton_James-Mccarthy-Full_ResizeJames Mccarthy, Everton playerUmbro does feel more Everton. I remember Everton playing in Umbro in the past and hopefully going back to them will serve us well. I certainly like it. It would be nice if we win some more silverware in this Umbro kit."

To mark the launch of the kit, Umbro and Everton have released a film featuring faces who capture the ‘Fabric of Everton’. The film includes everyone from Martinez to Tom Gardner, the club’s oldest living former player. Phil Jagielka, Ross Barkley, Seamus Coleman star alongside Everton legends Duncan Ferguson and Graeme Sharp, Everton Ladies’ captain Michelle Hinnigan, Everton in the Community’s disability manager, Steve Johnson, Kit Manager Jimmy Martin and the club’s painter and decorator John Manville who has been at Goodison since 1978.

Everton fans can share their ‘Fabric Since’ date via social media using #efcFABRIC as a hashtag.

Everton’s new home kit is available to pre-order now and is available for men, women, juniors, infants and babies. It goes on sale on July 17.
