Are you type A? You desperately want to get fit and you overindulge in everything – except efforts to, er, get fit. Your skin is dull, you are always tired and sluggy sluggish. Time is marching on and now you don't know how to break out of this.
Are you type B? You are a sleek, contoured machine made for movement. You go through pairs of trainers like type A goes through cheese and chardonnay. And what's more, you already know what we're going to tell you here, because you were the first to sign up.
OK, Type A and anyone else who recognises a teeny bit of themselves in there, you are going to do something about this sorry state of affairs today.
You are going to sign up, right now, and join the 8,000 other women in Liverpool who are warming up for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.
Entries opened this week for the 5k race which will be taking place on Saturday July 14 and Sunday July 15 at Aintree Racecourse, in a bid to raise over £1/2 million by bringing together 8,250 women.
Paula Jones, organiser said, “Last year’s event had an unforgettable atmosphere and was a great success, raising £469,853. I’d really urge every woman to take part as it’s such an inspiring day and the money raised really does make an invaluable contribution to beating cancer.”
The Race for Life offers the perfect opportunity to start taking regular exercise and maintain a healthy body weight. Women of all ages and levels of fitness are urged to train and participate.
Some of the 80,000 women who take part in races around the UK are cancer survivors while others run or walk in memory or to celebrate the lives of family, friends or loved ones.
Since Race for Life began in 1994, over 2.7 million women across the UK have taken part, raising over £140 million. Every pound raised in sponsorship goes directly to the scientists, doctors and nurses who work ambitiously to find new treatments.

It's five months off, you can do it. We'll see you there.
