Girl bands unite for Comic Relief.

Now look. Before any Run DMC fans get a bee in their bonnet, this is just a charity record for Comic Relief, OK.Sugababes have thrown their hats in with Girls Aloud to form the ultimate girl band for Red Nose Day 2007. With a glammed up and somewhat toned down cover of the classic track Walk This Way, the supergroup-for-a-day, who have had 26 top ten singles and nine hit albums between them, are hoping to get to the top of the charts this week , and all proceeds will go to Comic Relief. Hmm. Who do you look for? Babes Aloud or what? From the money raised over the last ten Red Nose Days, Comic Relief has spent over £10.2 million on almost 500 projects in the North West.

You can join in the fun in these parts by heading down to Mosquito, in Victoria Street, for the Red Nose Ball, or by sipping Red Nose cocktails above in the Living Room. You could watch some stand-up in the unlikely setting of the Tea Factory in Wood Street, or just look up at the big telly in Clayton Square for ongoing frolics throughout the day.

Whatever you think of the track, in the meantime, here's a small screen to look at with our streamed version, and Heidi Range and Nicola Roberts doing their bit to make the folks back in Walton and Runcorn proud.
