CALL FOR CALORIES ON MENUS: The Government wants to see calorie information on more restaurant menus. Printed nutritional information will help the public adopt a healthier lifestyle and save the NHS billions of pounds a year, according to Health Secretary Andrew Lansley.

VINTAGE FAIR AT VICTORIA BATHS: Open from 10am - 4pm on Sunday 3 October, stall holders will be selling their many and varied yester-year wears from handbags and glad rags to toys and antiques, collectables and trinkets. FASHION EVENT AT RUBY LOUNGE: Fashion label Munkispanner is hosting an evening event at the Ruby Lounge on Saturday 9 October from 7.30pm - 3am. The event will feature vintage and sustainable fashion shows from some of Manchester’s up and coming designers. Expect to see British subculture clothing from Munkispanner, quirky streetwear from Not for Ponies, vintage fabrics from Kathryn Hanson, green fashion from Emily Jane Wade and British tailoring from Jonathan Lloyd. Tickets cost 5pm and you can also enjoy live bands, dance performances, burlesque, live graffiti artists and DJs all night long.

HED KANDI DESIGNS CLOTHES: The house music name has branched out into the world of fashion by launching its very own fashion collection. The collection covers party wear, casual glam dresses, skirts, tops, jackets and leggings as well as shoes, bags and jewellery. Sexy body con dresses with embellishment and plunging backs will be Hed Kandi’s signature styles for autumn/winter 2010. Price points for the clothing range from £35 for to £175. A Hed Kandi store will be opening at Liverpool One on Thursday 14 October.
