The Economy: £5.95 for any pizza or pasta on a Monday night.
In Real Terms: A selection of big and filling pizzas and pasta dishes which would normally cost you anything from £8.50 upwards to around the £11 mark. Pizza bases are consistently good from the Olive Press oven, and not-so-traditional selections include rocket and Parma ham, char grilled asparagus, caramelised red onion, mushrooms, fried egg and sour cream, crab and courgette – although not on the same pizza (well, you could ask...).
“Handmade artisan pastas” include a very good lasagne - big, sturdy and meaty, by jove, missus - baked tuna, swordfish & prawn cannelloni, pan fried potato gnocchi with porcini mushrooms, as well as your spag bol, carbonara and more. Buy a bottle of wine or two and get stuck in.
The Interest Rate: High. By 7.30pm the place was chock-full of canny
diners, adding nonsense to the idea that Monday is a bad night to go out.
Child Credits: Plenty. Kids, or “Little Olives”, are treated with respect in here. They get service with a smile, crayons and games on their menu (£7.50 for two courses and a drink; free if you are under three) and even Plasticine to keep them quiet. By the time that novelty has worn off, they then get to make their own pizzas and watch them, at the kitchen door, being shoved into the oven by the friendly chef. Kids aren't kept waiting either: By the time they've counted to 180, dinner is served.
The Futures Market: You can bank on this deal being a long term asset of the Olive Press for the foreseeable.
Black Monday? Not at this rate.
Credit Score: Risk it.
