Ada & Richmond are bringing a new concept of ‘grab and go’ food to Liverpool One – with oats as the key ingredient.
The thinking behind the concept is to provide a tasty, fresh and healthy alternative to fast food. Their founder, Alastair Baker, says, “It's nutritious and delicious fillings and snacks, but not a grain of bread or pastry to be found.”
Oatmeal boasts a number of health benefits, from controlling blood sugars to lowering cholesterol and reducing the risk of coronary heart disease. Oat products are also high in energy-boosting protein, while the amino acid present in oat bran (tryptophan) promotes a stable mood and restful sleep.
The range available at Liverpool One includes hot and cold food, both savoury and sweet. The dairy and bakery products are created fresh in store each day, using only British-sourced produce, with no artificial additives. Soft drinks and fresh coffees are also available.
The company was set up by the great grandson of Ada and Richmond, who started selling Staffordshire Oatcakes in the 1940s through the window of their home.
Liverpool will be home to the first outlet of the new Ada & Richmond. The company has plans to expand across the North West.
Ada & Richmond’s Liverpool outlet will open on 17 October, and can be found in Keys Court between Church Street and School Lane (opposite Topshop) in Liverpool One.
