The Polar Bar launches

AS the frost hits the ground, an early Christmas present for Liverpool city centre has arrived with the opening of The Polar Bar at Liverpool One.

The launch was attended by over 800 VIP guests including Hollyoaks' Karen Hassan, T4/Hollyoaks Matt Littler with girlfriend Jayne Mahon and Coronation Street's Andrew Lancel.

The city’s first pop-up winter bar, brought to Liverpool by Ear to the Ground (the international events organisers responsible for the launch of Liverpool Capital of Culture in 2008) is an impressive and stylish wonderland offering warming cocktails and festive food.

The bar will be providing a cosy and luxurious escape from the hustle and bustle of the city centre for families in the daytime and party-goers at night, right up until January 10 next year.

The 500 metre square bar boasts a luxurious snug, cosily furnished with Chesterfield sofas and vintage rugs, for relaxing after work or shopping.

There are also separate seating and standing areas, ensuring there's room for all to come in out of the cold.

The Polar Bar serves a warming winter cocktail menu, including a Classic Winter Crumble and Liverpool's Mulled Wine, plus the full Illy Coffee range, who have also specially concocted some winter hot drinks meaning you can toast the season with anything from a Mint Hot Chocolate to a Cinnamon Latte.

The bar will serve a full selection alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and also providing a warming selection of pie and mash to banish any winter chills.

Daytime family fun will be hosted by Parky, the Polar Bar’s 8ft polar bear. You can go to the Polar Bar photo booth, which is brimming with winter props to ensure everyone has the perfect photo for the Christmas mantelpiece. You'll also find fun and games for all the family such as giant Connect Four and Giant Jenga.

The bar is part of Liverpool One's 'Christmas in the Park', which also has an ice rink and carousel creating the full festive experience.

As night descends Polar Bar transforms into a hip venue dedicated to great music and good times and goes that extra mile to ensure a right festive shindig for all.
