The Polar Bar Is Coming To Liverpool ONE

Liverpool's coolest new bar opens this Friday

The Polar Bar Is Coming To Liverpool ONE

The Polar Bar is bringing a winter wonderland to Liverpool city centre. Ideal as a family treat or post-work pick me up, this Arctic hangout beside the ice rink in Chavasse Park is set to become the coolest bar in town – and it opens this Friday 4 November.

With seasonal snug and chalet areas, it's anything but your average pop-up. Plasma screen fires and dangling antler horns get you in the mood for Christmas and there's an 8ft resident polar bear 'Parky' to hang out with too.

In the main room, Chesterfield sofas and vintage rugs transform the 1000 capacity space into a fashionable, festive retreat. And with seating and standing areas as well as a separate section for private parties, families, work and party crowds have more than enough space to chill out this Christmas.

Dsc03179The menu errs on the side of comfort food. None of us can resist warming, winter fare at this time of year, and urban explorers can choose from flavoursome pies including a special recipe Traditional Winter Scouse served with roasted beets. A range of cakes and light snacks are available, including Winter Crumble, while the cocktail selection is both sweet and seasonal – in fact we've even gone so far as to suggest that the signature 'Liverpool Mulled Wine' has the markings of a future classic.

One of the things that's great about winter is supping on something hot and chocolatey - and Polar Bar has got this side of the menu down to a tee. Drinks to keep you warm on cold days and nights include speciality hot chocolates and Illy coffees, including an unusual Mint Hot Chocolate, and toasty Cinnamon Latte.

And if you're in need of a hug, keep an eye out for Parky, the Polar Bar’s 8ft, loveable polar bear. His purpose in life is to make sure that you have the best possible time. Dress up like a mountaineer and have your picture taken in the Polar Bar booth, or have a go at giant Connect Four and  Jenga – and of course Chavasse Park's festive ice rink is just a few metres from the front door.

Dsc02753Situated next to Liverpool ONE's Christmas grotto, parents are rewarded for treating the kids with 50% off Illy Coffee after a visit to Santa. The bar is part of Liverpool ONE's 'Christmas in the Park' and, as well as an ice rink, there's a festive carousel, creating a full-on, festive vibe.

The idea is to provide a snug, winter grotto for shoppers and pedestrians to stop by, put their feet up and enjoy a bit of winter relaxation. With eye-catching surroundings and festive decoration, the Polar Bar is the place to get set for the winter holidays. Manchester's North Pole bar is from the same family – and if their success in the city over the last three years is anything to go by – the Polar Bar is set to become Liverpool's favourite winter bar too.

The Polar Bar, Liverpool's very first pop-up winter bar will be found at Liverpool ONE, Chavasse Park, from Friday 4 November until 10 January 2012.
