LET'S be honest, North John Street is a whole lot easier on the eye for all the shiny pillar and flagpole pomp of the Hard Day’s Night Hotel. I’m glad it exists.
The posh Beatles theme is inevitably tourism gold and, well, gold is just bloody expensive these days, innit?
Still, what rich-skinned scrote could ever justify paying £920.00 for a bottle of Crystal Rose? Alas, it’s on the menu. Such is the modern, unjust world.
Anyway, while us norms might not be able to visit the HDN frequently, or for any slurp-heavy duration at least, we can find the love to enjoy a winter cocktail or two, surely.
Bar Four came up with a limited edition line-up of Winter Warmers (£8.25 each) to ensure everyone got merry with them for Christmas.
And while the party may be over for most of us, not there. Even if you are the sort who does a dry January, the four drinks are going to be available until the end of February, too. As the Beatles might have sung: They’ll get you in the end.
From the supremely tart tasting Two of Us to the lighter-than-skimmed-milk, modern-twist-on-an-old-classic Snowball effort, there’s plenty for the taste buds to be keen on.
Meanwhile, the from-nowhere-fad of edible glitter adds a pleasing aesthetic to the glide-easy Very Merry Berries number. Hendricks gin and cucumber, mmmm.
Should you not be able to make it out, we’ve got the recipes here for you to have a shake at, at home.
Your kitchen, after all, is the best bar going. And you’ve already paid the bill. Brilliant.
