My opinion of the Frankie and Benny´s chain was quite low until I had to check in at Speke Airport at some ridiculous hour on a Sunday morning some months ago. It was the only half-decent place open.

The well-presented bacon and eggs were just the job at that hour of the morning and the Bloody Marys easily sorted out my airport pre-flight queasiness. (Their toilets were also clean, dry and presentable)

The only flaw was that the waiter was unable to serve the Bloody Marys as the pre-mixed standard mixture had run out. They did, however have all the requisite ingredients to make a proper, fresh Bloody Mary (apart from the sherry) and he mixed one at our table under our direction.

Full marks! They ought always to make them freshly!
