Almost Famous Burgers in Halloween party alert

Night of an evil mess marks end of three 'overwhelming months'

Almost Famous Burgers in Halloween party alert

IT says “No fairy wings or banana costumes” on the invite. Well, actually, it says “No fairy wings or banana costumes” with loads of Anglo Saxon words in between. Language Timothy.

It's the food party everyone will probably want to go to and marks the end of three “overwhelming” months since the hot sensation of Manchester (well there was that chip pan fire) opened up shop in Liverpool.

For it seems we can't get enough of AFB's filthy wares. Two-hour waiting times are becoming the norm at weekends, which has prompted them to open seven days a week. They have also increased the capacity with another 80 covers in the balcony restaurant, just opened, upstairs.

There, from one of its deep, dark booths, AFB Chief Warlock Beau Myers surveys his kingdom.

He describes the new dining area as “sumptuous and naughty” and, admittedly, it is all rather David Lynch. There will be a new “full, big, cwazy, fun, red blooded menu” to go with all this poshness in the New Year, shelved for now because the restaurant has been “so busy beyond what we had hoped for,” says Mr M.

Confidential nipped in on Wednesday night and immediately
dived into a Satanic food melee of Fairground burgers (£7), crack wings (£3.50), pink fizz (no idea) and bitch juice (£7).

The place was heaving – in a good way – with plenty of kitchen roll on hand to mop up the deliciously evil, addictive mess (for it was) and not a dislocated jaw or PR in sight.

Next Thursday they are billing the do as “A Night Of Freakish Food And Faux Friendship.”

The witching hour is 9pm with a zombie cocktail reception followed by tables for 9.30pm-10pm and a DJ later “until bad things happen”.

Five courses: Bloody Dippers; Boneyard Nachos; Slaughter House Floor Slider; F*** Fabulous Flatiron Steak and Eton Massacre.

£30 “blood tax” each or take your coven and bag a booth for £240.

This buys you the five courses, a welcome cocktail and shooter (the drink sort, and not the kind used to rob an offy).

Buy here, if you will.
