HAVING recently completed a sold out US tour, David Gray has announced a string of UK dates for his ‘Lost and Found’ gigs. Starting at Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall on Friday 27 May, the tour arrives in Manchester on 3 June with an intimate performance at The Bridgewater Hall.
He’ll be playing songs from his current album, ‘Foundling’, as well as reinterpretations of songs from throughout his entire catalogue. The tour will give Gray the chance to play some of his quieter, more intimate, songs with Gray saying “It will provide a long anticipated platform for a completely different approach”. Having crafted nine studio albums he’s certainly got a lot of songs to make a selection from. But are we really anticipating his work that much? At least it will give him something to aim for.
He hopes that the shows will be a real “experience” for his fans. He’s sacrificing a few decibels to keep the volume levels much lower than your average rock show with acoustic instruments being mic’d up for their more ‘ authentic’ sound.
‘Lost and Found’ will be Gray’s most extensive UK tour since 2008. With his career spanning over 15 years, Gray has picked up more than a few fans along his way and his show at the Bridgewater Hall is likely to be packed.
Tickets cost £29.50 and are available from www.gigsandtours.com or by calling 0844 811 0051.
