Pub scrawl
Ye Cracke has always been a pub full of artists. And not just the visual kind.Illicit scribbles aside you are likely to find both academics and actors applying their creative skills in one intoxicating way or another.

Right it seems then for the Rice Street watering hole to run an exhibition, adding actual art to all the artiness.

Well funnily enough, Strange Attractions present 'City Garden,' the second open art exhibition to be held in Ye Cracke's third room.

Featuring works from 12 local artists, you may need more than the one drink to pinpoint each piece's emotional power, expression and so on.

*City Garden, open art exhibition, Ye Cracke, until 20th Sept, free

Gospel truth
Anfield’s very own beacon of Gospel arts and community entertainment will open its doors to the public for free guided tours this weekend.

The Liverpool Lighthouse, formerly the Gaumont Palace Cinema, has a team of dedicated volunteers all of whom are keen to tell the building’s then and now story.

As well as exploring the LL’s architectural offerings, weekend visitors can take advantage of ‘Gospel Music Brunch,’ a lively song and dance performance in the venue’s Bliss Restaurant courtesy of the Love and Joy Gospel Choir.

Yo! Yo! Yoga
Liverpool Loves Yoga, Oh yes it does, according to Liverpool Yoga Centre who, admittedly, could be stretching things.

Anyway, you too could become one of the yoga-worshipping gang this weekend if you take up one of the free sessions at Sefton Park Yes, free.

Learn a whole host of new positions, perhaps the head to knee, downward facing dog, or even the park’s favourite tree pose. But not the Bruce Forsyth pose.

Should you not be able to make it this weekend, breathe easy: sessions will be taking place in the park for the next three Saturdays.

*Free yoga, Sefton Park, 12th Sept, from 1pm, free, for more information call 0151 709 9169

Half naked weird stuff
IT'S time for another freak show this Saturday night at Circo, the Albert Dock’s trendiest drinking cave.

If stilt-walkers, fire-throwers, live snakes and general half-nakedness do it for you, there’s only one place to be. Also this weekend, guests can sample the sound of DJ Robbie Edwards, the newest member of Circo’s table-turning team.

VIP booths- which require £1000 spends at the bar- have already sold out for Saturday’s spectacle, but who cares? Very Unimportant People usually have more fun.

*Circo freak show, Circo, Albert Dock, L3. 12th Sept, from 9pm, free entry
