Weekend pick #3: Viva diva

Last chance to see Judy and Liza musical

Weekend pick #3: Viva diva

Exactly 46 years to the week after Judy Garland and her daughter Liza Minnelli last performed together at the London Palladium (November 8th & 16th 1964), the story of these two legendary divas will return to the stage one more time, as Judy and Liza comes to the New Brighton Floral Pavilion, this Saturday.

This new musical, created by and starring West End stalwart Emma Dears as Judy and Lucy Williamson as Liza, charts the lives of the mother and daughter.

Amid the trials and tribulations, the duo will be singing all the original's biggies, Cabaret, Maybe This Time, etcetera, in a show producers say has received great acclaim from audiences and critics at its first two pilot performances in Liverpool and St Helens.

This is the last chance to see it on Mersey shores before it sets off on a UK tour in 2011.

She don't half look the part in that picture, don't she?

*Judy and Liza, Saturday Nov 13, 2,30pm and 7.30pm , New Brighton Floral Pavilion, Marine Promenade, New Brighton, CH45 2JS. Tickets £18-£22. For more details/tix, call Merseyside's scariest number: 0151 666 0000.
