Published on January 17th 2011.

Wedding Open Day at Chester Racecourse

You don't have to travel far to find a wedding venue with real character and style. With inbuilt glamour, a beautiful setting, and a long history of delivering first-class events, Chester Racecourse should be on every bride-to-be's list of possible places to get hitched.

At the Wedding Open Day on Saturday 22 January, you can find out about the different packages, view function rooms dressed for a wedding, and explore the grounds, on-site hotel and the 1539 Restaurant and Bar.

On Saturday 22 January and Sunday 20 February Chester Racecourse is holding Wedding Open Days to give you an opportunity to see first-hand whether this is the venue for you.

The racecourse is situated in breathtaking grounds close to the heart of Chester. It's flanked by the River Dee and overlooked by the medieval city walls. If you want a setting that will look great on your photographs and give your guests something to tell their friends about, this is it.

It's within walking distance of Chester train station, and there's a hotel on site so the logistics of travel and accommodation are easy. And when it comes to pulling off a sophisticated, smooth-running event, you're in safe hands.

The events management people here are experts at delivering memorable weddings. They do a lot of them – yet they know how to make you and your guests feel special. Every wedding at Chester Racecourse is different and the team can recommend all kinds of added touches such as arrival by hot-air balloon or an evening firework display.

But even without the extras, a wedding at Chester Racecourse is a memorable affair. You'll arrive to a red carpet welcome, and there's complimentary overnight accommodation for the Bride and Groom if you reach a certain number of guests. You can personalise the menu for the wedding breakfast, and it will be served on the finest linen in your choice of colour.

Chester Races does a range of wedding packages designed to keep costs under control. Their All Inclusive Wedding Package, which is available all days other than Saturday, costs £3,999 based on 60 daytime guests and 100 evening guests.

This is just one of your options though. At the Wedding Open Days on Saturday 22 January and Sunday 20 February you can find out about the different packages, view function rooms dressed for a wedding, and explore the grounds, on-site hotel and the 1539 Restaurant and Bar. The wedding co-ordinator will be on hand to discuss what you want from your big day.

Manchester Confidential has an offer running on weddings at Chester Racecourse at the moment. If you confirm your wedding there before 14 February, you receive a free hen or stag do consisting of a day at Chester Races for ten people, worth over £1000. Click here for details.

The Chester Racecourse Wedding Open Days will be held on Saturday 22 January and Sunday 20 February from 11am to 3pm. There's no need to book, but they recommend you make an appointment with the wedding co-ordinator to ensure they are free. Please call Marietta Reynolds at Chester Racecourse on 01244 304 607 to schedule a time.
