This Easter Spinningfields will be going quackers as it hosts the annual Manchester Duck Race in aid of Children’s Charity Brainwave.
On Good Friday, 22nd April at 2.15pm, thousands of ducks will race downstream between Albert Bridge and Irwell Street Bridge.
Entry to the Duck Race costs just £1 and people can enter via Spinningfields restaurants and bars or by visiting www.spinningfieldsonline.com .
Spinningfields will also be hosting lots of family activities including face painting, inflatable giant slide, rodeo bull, mini car racing and a hook-a-duck stall, making this a fun day out over Easter weekend.
All the proceeds from the Duck Race will go to Brainwave, a charity that helps children with brain injuries and genetic conditions benefit from home based physical and cognitive exercise programs.
Prizes up for grabs include a mini Alexa Handbag courtesy of Mulberry on The Avenue, a family meal at The Alchemist, a complimentary Hey Little Cupcake Decorating Class, a meal for two at Zizzi on Spinningfields and a family ticket for Thomas and Friends at The opera House.
North West businesses will also be competing in a duck race featuring giant, stylish, black rubber ducks lettering. The ‘corporate ducks’ cost £150 plus VAT and companies who enter can design their duck to be in with a chance to win the ‘Designer Duck’ prize, celebrating the opening of The Avenue, Manchester luxury retail quarter.
