Something for the weekend (7-9 March, 08)

Tired from staying up late at Africa Exprez? Here's Ben's pick of stuff to perk you up over the next couple of days

Something for the weekend (7-9 March, 08)

Guns N' Posers
Are you a Roses fan? A Guns N' Roses fans that is, where tight leather pants supersede baggy trousers?

Unfortunately, the Guns N' Roses of old is no longer, unless you count Axl Rose who still owns rights to the name. However, at the Academy this Saturday, you can catch the UK Guns N' Roses, who by all accounts, are meant be just as good as the real thing. Expect a fag smoking, top hat wearing Slash to execute a face melting solo whilst Axl struts around the stage like Freddy Mercury.

Amazing coat
The West End phenomenon makes it way to the Liverpool Empire this weekend when Joseph dons his fetching coat of many colours in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Biblical musical. It has been around the houses a few times down the years, but then haven't we all?

Any dream will do? You bet.

Remains to be seen
Dinosaurs. Aren't they marvellous? And this weekend, you're invited to the World Museum to learn all about them. In concurrence with Science Week, families can come down and discover all about the secret history of the most frightening creatures ever to walk the planet, allegedly, while partaking in fun activities and quizzes. You can also gawp at a huge replica T-Rex head and a giant Apatasaurus bone. For the more dino-curious, resident expert Dave Roberts will be on hand on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 from 1pm-4pm to help you bone up.

Science Week runs from 7-16 March.

A bit predictable
Here's one you may not have foreseen – an evening of telepathy and the paranormal with Clairvoyant Colin Fry. Widely regarded as one of the world's finest spiritualist mediums, Colin Fry will be offering an evening of the mystic and supernatural. Who knows what he will come out with at the Liverpool Empire this Sunday?
