RZA @ The New Picket
THERE'S a real treat is in store for hip-hop fans this weekend as RZA – founding member of hip-hop legends The Wu-Tang Clan appears at The New Picket performing as his alter ego Bobby Digital. RZA was the catalyst behind numerous Wu-Tang records and is seen as one of the best producers in the rap world, producing nearly all of the Wu-Tang’s records as well as his own and other artists.

This is an opportunity to see one of the biggest names in hip-hop, doing his thing right on your doorstep. Not to be missed – unless of course, you can't stand hip-hop...

Calling all fans of the Fab Four. What better to do on a Bank Holiday than dig out all your old Beatles memorabilia and see how much beer money it could be worth.

Down at the Albert Dock, you can get a free valuation of all your hidden-away Beatles souvenirs that you've probably nicked off your grandad. From Cavern membership cards to autographs and limited edition EPs, if you think you’ve got something worth something, go along and have it valued. Just ask the real owner before you go ahead and sell the signed record they’ve kept safe for 45 years.

I'm looking through you
Psychos or Psycics? If you believe in the latter you may well be interested in an event this weekend at Croxteth Hall. Of course you probably already foresaw this event happening (you're fired, Ed).

You’ll be able to see mediums, get your palm read and have a chin-wag with a clairvoyant if you so wish. There'll also be all kinds of massages and therapies, including reiki healing, where practitioners state that energy flows through their palms to bring about sensual healing. Not to be confused with the famous Marvin Gaye song.

Spirit Visions - Mind, Body and Spirit show

A massive mish mash
Although not strictly something for the weekend, it’s Thursday, as we speak, which surely means you can afford a few beers on a school night.

So where to go? Bar Fresa seems as good a bet as any. Three different bands, three different sounds and it's absolutely free.

Mike Hill of Lord General's Massive Experience, describes his bands sound as "a bassist, drummer, guitarist and turntablist - funky, bass heavy bouncy dance-instigating loveliness with lots of sampling, scratching and general stupidness."

If this sounds like your cuppa tea, you're about to read the details.

Thursday 1 May
8pm - 2am
