NYE at Electrik, Chorlton and December listings

NYE for £5 plus Christmas Guestrant, carrier bag rave, and vintage market

Published on December 9th 2010.

NYE at Electrik, Chorlton and December listings

Electrik in Chorlton has a whole advent calendar of happy times planned for December, including a very tempting NYE night for £5 – a good bet if you live within walking distance of Chorlton and want to avoid the taxi madness in town.

There's also vintage shopping, fabulous food at Guestrant, and more. And don't forget you can save £7 on cheap Christmas socialising right now – you get any main, pudding and cocktail for just £10. It's available every day including weekends. To get your voucher click here.

Here are the full listings for December:

Guestrant with Julie Bagnoli in aid of Fareshare
Monday 13 December, 7.30pm
Tickets £25 in advance at Electrik

Julie Bagnoli – award-winning chef and owner of Isinglass and Palmiro – will be the 'guest' chef in Electrik's kitchen for one night only this month. And all proceeds will go to charity Fareshare which redistributes surplus food from the restaurant industry to vulnerable people.

Julie, a leading member of the slow food movement, will design a three-course meal almost entirely from quality, pre 'sell by' dated food that would otherwise go to landfill. The food will be exceptional and it's for a worthwhile cause. It'll also be a great social event – communal tables and good chat.

To get your ticket, drop in at Electrik in advance or call them on 0161 881 3315.

One Deck Xmas 7" Carrier Bag Rave
Sunday 19 December, 7pm-midnight
Free entry

Following the format of Electrik's usual One Deck Session of no headphones, no mixing and just one deck. But with the added rules that all vinyl must be of a 7'', 45rpm nature and carried in a carrier bag with a whole of load of festive cheer.

Last year's event was roadblocked with a blizzard blowing outside and horseback being the only means of getting there. This year Electrik will be transformed into the house party of legends once more – a very special line-up of DJs will be announced.

If you can't wait that long then you can get your weekly fix of One Deck-ness by heading down to Electrik every Sunday to catch guest selectors providing sounds from their crates.

Upcoming guests include Balearic Mike and Moggsy on Sunday 12 December.

New Year's Eve at Electrik
Friday 31 December,
Tickets £5

Celebrate NYE in the warm, intimate surroundings of Electrik. Tickets are just £5 and are available from the bar with no booking fee. Last year's party sold out before Christmas so don't hang about and be left in the cold. Guest DJs TBC.

Regular events at Electrik:

Vintage Market
Saturdays, 12pm-5pm
Free entry

Every Saturday morning, the Vintage Market is Electrik's own treasure chest of cool and quirky men and women's clothing and home-made jewellery. Go along to pick up a bargain Christmas present and sample some of the lovely cupcakes.

Elliot Eastwick's World Famous Pub Quiz
Tuesdays, 8.30pm-11.30pm
