Published on April 15th 2011.

Liverpool Sound City

IT is billing itself as Liverpool's “coolest boutique urban festival”. Whatever next?

Nevertheless, Liverpool Sound City is something we have all come to rather look forward to these past couple of years, and with its bands and its conferences, it has proved that it was more than a flash in the 08 Capital of Culture pan.

The event, which runs from May 19-May 21, has just announced its full day-by-day programming.

David Pichilingi, the festival’s director, says that, “This year we have again produced a world-class festival line-up that is reflected in the scope of artists we are bringing to Liverpool in May.

“We have continued our diverse programming to include people from all over the world converging on our city for a true showcase of some of the hottest talent out there and many of the next generation of stars who you will see breaking through the ranks in the coming months.”

The Black LipsApart from all the usual music venues, this time will see St George’s Hall, the Metropolitan Cathedral Crypt and St Luke's being used too.

*Liverpool Sound City, May 19-21. 3-day Live Festival Wristbands: £45 until May 1st (increasing to £50 after). Single day wristbands: Thursday £22.50 / Friday £22.50 /Saturday £25. Full Delegate passes: £150
