Anyone whose job involves organising events, parties, corporate hospitality, or team-building activities, should get themselves to RSVP North, a free exhibition at Manchester Central on 28 and 29 April. It's the place to go if you want to find inspiration, talk to suppliers and pick up tips on events management from industry experts.

Over the past two years RSVP North has established itself as the North's premier events exhibition with stands from over 200 suppliers, a topical industry talks programme, and free workshops. There's also an entertainment stage where singers, bands, dancers, magicians and comedians will show off their skills and the Harvey Nichols Foodmarket Café serving breakfasts, lunches and afternoon cream teas to eat in or take away .

Over 2,500 events organisers visited last year, including representatives from AstraZeneca, Siemens, the BBC, Deloitte, and ASDA. Event Director, John Dare, expects it to be equally popular this year. He said: “In the current economic climate event organisers are focused on making savings without compromising quality, whereas suppliers are keen to keep the customers they have and pursue new business. This is why they’ll all be at RSVP North 2009. I expect it to be even more of a vital focus for the region’s event management business than before.”

Exhibitors will include entertainers, venues, caterers, florists, corporate hospitality and event management companies, and more. The talks programme will highlight and discuss the issues affecting businesses as they plan events in 2009 and 2010. The credit crunch, getting value for money, making the most of the 2012 Olympics, reducing carbon output and theming are just some of this year’s hot topics. All the panels will be chaired by Event Magazine editor Jeremy King with a host of guest speakers.

The free workshops will be an opportunity for visitors to interact with exhibiting companies. This year, in addition to the ever popular beauty salon, pottery and mixology classes, there are two new additions – The Perfume Studio, where visitors can design their own fragrances, and Wine Unearthed, which offers tutored wine tastings and tips.

So if you want fresh ideas, information from suppliers, and have a hands on fun packed day, get yourself down there. The first 50 pre registered visitors to arrive at the show each day will receive one of our exclusive goodybags.

If you register beforehand, it's free to get in, and you'll be entered into a competition to win a luxury weekend break for four in Manchester. Click here to register.

RSVP North will be held at Manchester Central (formerly G-MEX) on Wednesday 29 April from 10.30am to 5pm, and on Thursday 30 April from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
