The Field Kitchen is Riverford Organic's much praised restaurant in Devon. It gets lots of love from food critics for its seasonal, fresh-from-the-farm cooking, and even eeked out praise from shouty chef Gordon Ramsay who said, "I knew it would be good, but not that good".
This summer the Field Kitchen is going on tour – and will be stopping off at Stockley Farm on the Arley Estate near Knutsford in September. Confidential really likes the sound of this place so we're putting on a special evening for readers on opening night. We'll take you by coach from Manchester city centre to the farm then we'll all gather in a hand built yurt for a three-course feast of award-winning seasonal cuisine.
This isn't veggie stews and tofu – it is sophisticated cuisine which uses the best of local organic meats alongside what's fresh from the fields to create a feast of gutsy flavours. We'll be joined on the night by charismatic Riverford founder, farmer Guy Watson.
It's going to be a great evening – a chance to escape the city and enjoy fantastic cooking on the farm where much of the food was grown. It'll be a sociable do – after a complimentary drink on arrival dishes will be brought to you at communal tables.
