Two of the biggest names of 80s British pop are coming to the Live Lounge at Baby Blue later this month. Nik Kershaw plays on Sunday 22nd March and Paul Young with his band, Los Pacaminos, on Sunday 29th March.
Nik Kershaw signed with MCA Records in 1983 and released his debut album “Human Racing” in 1984. It achieved multi-platinum sales. His records spent 50 weeks on the UK singles chart that year, beating all other soloists. In July 1985, he took to the Wembley stage to perform at Live Aid.
The following years saw him working as a writer and producer with Elton John, Chesney Hawkes (for whom he penned the Number 1 hit ‘The One and Only’), Cliff Richard, Bonnie Tyler, Lulu, Ronan Keating, Jason Donovan and Gary Barlow.
He has received accolades from such legends as Eric Clapton and Miles Davis even, and has been nominated for four Brit Awards. Following a successful series of intimate gigs in 2008, Nik is now back on the road.
The Tex-Mex outfit Los Pacaminos is led by silver tongued vocalist Paul Young and first came together in 1995. “I’ve always loved the Tex-Mex sound and knew a few musicians who had a similar passion for this type of music. So I asked them to join me in forming a band."
We have two pairs of tickets to give away to each of these gigs, which you can buy for £17 and £15 respectively here, or £19 and £17 on the door.
