In winter, Manchester's music fans decamp to Snowbombing for a big joyous party in the mountains. In summer, they head to Electric Elephant in Croatia – the boutique festival put together by the folks behind Electric Chair and Electrik bar in Chorlton.
In this competition you can win a pair of tickets to Electric Elephant worth £85 each.
More than just a festival, Electric Elephant is a holiday adventure, an escape, a musical getaway, a meeting of like-minded souls that evokes the original spirit of the unspoilt Ibiza of the ‘70s and early ‘80s.
Returning for a fourth bash in 2011, Electric Elephant moves from its late summer slot to mid July (14-18 July), where it’s been expanded to a five-day, five-night event that blurs the boundaries between festival and holiday. Electric Elephant is the place for sun, sea, boat parties, DJs, live music and club nights on the beautiful Adriatic coast.
Already confirmed to play and host boat parties next year are YO YO (longstanding Notting Hill Arts bash with Seb Chew and Leo Greensdale), Andrew Weatherall, Horse Meat Disco, and Kelvin Andrews and Balearic Mike (responsible for the ace Down To The Sea & Back compilation). Along with the annual cruises from Electric Chair and Lowlife, the line-up is looking tantalisingly good.
Electric Elephant is held in a magical wooded peninsula nestled in the ancient coastal village of Petrcane, Croatia, in easy reach of Zadar airport. Situated on the sun-sparkled sea of the Adriatic, Petrcane has family-run restaurants, villas by the beach and independently owned small hotels and campsites.
Tickets are available now, priced at £85 for the full, five-night shebang – click here.
