It's almost spring and the sunny days ahead can only mean one thing: Dusting down the barbecue, cracking open several foaming bottles of cold beer, donning your Hawaiian shorts and listening to your old Sergeant Pepper album.
That's what the people at Cains will no doubt be doing now that they have teamed up with pop artist Peter Blake, designer of The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper album sleeve, to launch a limited edition bottle of premium lager.
The 'Best of British' inspired label features the Union Jack and kicks off Cains' support of Liverpool's Capital of Culture 08 activities as official beer sponsor.
The limited edition bottle is being launched this month and will be available nationally until the end of 2008. You can buy it at Tate galleries across the UK, selected Tesco, Sainsbury and ASDA stores.
Limited edition posters are also being produced showing the striking bottle set against a Union Jack backdrop. But we thought you'd rather have the beer and so we've got hold of two cases of 12 500ml bottles each for two thirsty Liverpool Confidential readers.
We were going to throw in a box of blue Walkers crisps too, but decided on a box of straws instead. Classy, see.
