Clayton Square shopping centre, in central Liverpool, last month teamed up with Coleen McLoughlin to launch an environmentally friendly “Bag for Life” to raise funds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
The idea was that the £4 bag, available from stores within Clayton Square shopping centre, would raise funds - £30,000 in fact - for the hospital’s Imagine Appeal.
That's a lot of dosh, so, to ensure that the bag would be as successful as possible, Mrs Rooney-to-be put her own stylish stamp on to them by finding time in her busy schedule to actually design them herself.
The trendy result went on sale a couple of weeks ago, and they have been flying through the checkouts. By purchasing one, not only are shoppers making an up-to-the-minute fashion statement but are also helping the environment: Every bag is 100% eco friendly and, of course, you've ditched the plastic carrier.
They might even be a collector's item one day. You never know.
We've got one of Coleen's bags here. Except ours is a bit different: It is filled to the brim with £100 worth of presents!
Yes, £100 worth of treats, kindly given by some of Clayton Square's hottest retailers, including Boots, La Senza, Body Shop and Principles, to say happy Christmas to one very lucky Liverpool Confidential reader.
We would like to keep it, but we won't. You know what to do.
