It would never have happened in the old days. Not when the bankers were in charge. But Halifax House has a much more generous owner now, in the shape of the Restaurant Bar and Grill.
The RBG, which opened its doors to Liverpool earlier this year, revealing a stunning interior and a mood to match, has installed itself as a firm favourite among a wide mix of customers. It's open when you want it, too, from mid-morning through to late evening, serving brunch, lunch and dinner for up to 180 guests, with a cocktail bar and a private dining room for the rest.
Under the watchful eye of Liverpool-born chef Paul Feery, the open kitchen, wood stone oven and rotisserie turn out a formidable list of dishes from across the globe including roasted halibut with crab and herb crust, and Thai green curry, as well as more traditional English dishes. An enticing list of starters includes fried chilli squid with noodle salad, Asian and north African platters, while indulgent desserts include sticky toffee pudding, vanilla crème brulée and Malteser ice cream.
The emphasis at the Restaurant Bar and Grill is on providing an informal and relaxed atmosphere for a great dining experience. Now they want you to share the wealth.
Today Restaurant Bar and Grill are giving away two £100 tabs to two very lucky Liverpool Confidential readers, making it a fabulous treat of a prize.
This competition has now closed. Congratulations to our winners Paul Evangelides and Sarah Jane Saunders.
