Remember Liverpool indie band Space? Of course you do - ‘Female of the Species’ etc. Well lead singer, Tommy Scott is back with his new band The Drellas (half Dracula, half Cinderella) and if the driving bass lines are anything to go by, they’re guaranteed to make a huge impression.
The band is apparently an outlet for Tommy’s darker and heavier side, the music experimental and eccentric as ever - the lyrics witty yet a little peculiar. You'll probably listen to the band and feel like a weird spell has been put over you. It has that effect.
We have an exclusive first play of their new song, ‘Violence Is Art’, so listen and let’s hear what you think below.
Oh, we also have two pairs of tickets to give away for their gig at Liverpool Carling Academy where they will be joined by hippest band of the moment Ivan Campo, Chester's Circlesound and another Liverpool's premier punk/pop combo, Fraktures.
There will be a free 4-track LTD edition MD/Melted Head sampler featuring exclusive tracks by all the bands playing on the night. This will be available to the first 100 people through the doors, so get down there early.

I'm in two minds. There were times I was getting into the groove and then there were times the groove turned into someone scratching their nails down a blackboard
I need a lie down now. Very good to see Tommy back though and this has an extra bit of something than the usual derivative punk bollocks (never mind them).
My kids will like this. Just the thing after a chocolate overload.
Good lord!
