Superbook is going, going and nearly gone!

New Superlambananas book is snapped up by thousands of fans...and it hasn't even been launched yet. But we have a small bundle...want one?

Published on February 16th 2009.

Superbook is going, going and nearly gone!

125 multi-coloured sculptures; 30,000 mosaic tiles; 400 litres of paint; 100 artists; 26 community groups; one escaped lambie and a ransom note. It was quite a spectacle… Here is the complete story

For ten manic weeks Liverpool went Go Superlambananas! Children and visitors alike loved them.

Now comes Go Superlambananas: The Book - but not for long. Of the 6,000 copies that were printed and which went on sale just under a fortnight ago, 5,000 have been snapped up already. The launch is Tuesday.

But ahead of all that, Liverpool Confidential have got their hands on ten copies of this prized first edition, to give away to lucky readers in time for Christmas.

Go Superlambananas: The Book captures the creativity, humour and excitement that swept the city when Superlambananas took over Liverpool in the summer of 2008.

This 288 page hard backed book is a pictorial panorama of all 125 offspring of the original and best.

The Go Superlambananas project has even been called “the highlight of Liverpool’s Capital of Culture Year”.

Anyway, in partnership with Go Superlambanana creators Wild in Art, Fiona Shaw and Cities 500 are publishing Go Superlambananas: The Book featuring double page spreads of each gloriously painted Superlambanana - and crammed with anecdotes and witty observations.

The book, a must-have for any Superlambanana fan, which will grace your smallest room and coffee table equally, is available from www.cities500.com, FACT, and places like that.

But if you fancy your luck, fill in the boxes below, answer the tiebreaker and your own highly-sought-after copy could be thumping its way through your letterbox in time for Christmas (or at least a note telling you its sitting in a parcel depot on an industrial estate).
