INXS haven't been around in these parts for a while, but they certainly haven't been quiet. Now they return on Saturday June 23 with songs old and new.
Are we talking about the Knowsley Hall beano again? No, but you're not far off.
INXS are playing just up the road, at Haydock Park racecourse, putting the eastern reaches of Merseyside firmly at the heart of the musical midsummer night's circuit.
As part of the St Helens' racecourse's summer Saturday night events, which combine an evening of racing and then some pop, the band are stopping off as part of an extensive world tour.
Such was the demand among UK fans for a chance to see INXS, now fronted by JD Fortune, that they succumbed to public fervour and announced an 11-date tour across the land, taking in some places they haven’t played in almost a decade.
Reviews about Fortune favour the singer massively, with the Sunday Mirror (among others) in raptures over how the 25-year-old frontman makes the songs his own. “He seemed every bit a star in his own right. And with so much to live up to, that alone was no mean feat,” be told.
We have two pairs of County Stand tickets to see INXS live. Our last winners of tickets to a Haydock Park music night told us they had a whale of a time, and our Australian sales manager, Paul, can't wait to get his hands on them - “the tickets, that is, mate”.
So why not enter our competition (below) and see if you too have backed a winner. But if you want to book tickets to see them anyway click here (and that means you, Paul).
Closing date for entries, June 15.
This competition is now closed. Congratulations to our winner Iain Young.
