Tia, Carol and Sheila all have their own problems to deal with, and facials, nails and aromatherapy take a back seat to karaoke, bed-hopping and scorned lovers as the girls muddle their way through the day. It's an everday tale of hairdressing folk, but throw in a plastic gangster, a hysterical drama queen and a whole lot of vodka it all adds up to the Royal Court's latest comedy drama, The Salon.
The show will put a smile on the most botoxed face, they say, and its recent run in St.Helens had full houses giving standing ovations. You will be shrieking like you have had an intimate waxing as gag after gag hits the gag spot.
The Salon was originally produced by St.Helens Theatre Royal in June this year and Royal Court Liverpool are delighted to be able to give it a longer run.
The cast includes Roy Brandon, Suzanne Collins and Lynne Fitzgerald, while Bob Eaton will come straight from Our Day Out to direct the show.
Kevin Fearon, Royal Court supremo, is looking forward to plenty of laughs: “ When we saw the show in St.Helens we immediately knew that we should bring it here for a long run. We are delighted with the cast which is a mix of old favourites and some new faces for the Court.”
The Salon will run from Friday 30 October to Saturday 28 November 2009. Tickets and information are available from www.royalcourtliverpool.com or on 0870 787 1866.
This competition has now closed. Congratulations to our winners Suzanne Cooch,Ian Theodore,Jane Whittle,Lynne Bartling and Pam Slater.
