It's not often you get to see Liverpool music legends Echo and the Bunnymen live, for free, But that's the plan next weekend when the very exciting Eclectica Music Festival is staged in Victoria Square, St Helens.
The Bunnymen's headline appearance at Eclectica marks the only Merseyside date of their busy tour of major summer festivals.
They like their live music in St Helens, and Eclectica is the town's big annual treat to itself, but you are more than welcome to go along next Saturday (August 11).
This year the line-up also includes jangly guitar hero John Power (ex of the La's and Cast) hotly tipped indie rockers Little Man Tate, the marvellous Lancashire Hotpots, The Poems; The Aclyrics and Giant Root Attack. It's all happening two minutes from the train station and absolutely free.
What isn't fee, however, is the aftershow party, at the St Helens Citadel, featuring a DJ set from the Bunnymen's Will Sergeant, and turns by the Loungs and The Maybes. In fact money can't buy a ticket, but we've got two pairs to give away.
This competition is now closed.
