Olympic athlete and 2005 series runner-up Colin Jackson will join last year’s runner-up Ricky Whittle alongside this series’ celebrity dancers, actress Patsy Kensit, ex-Corrie star Tina O’Brien, comedian Pamela Stephenson and Eastenders’ Kara Tionton as Strictly Come Dancing Live returns to the M.E.N Arena next year.
Tickets for the 7.30pm Tuesday 8th & Wednesday 9th February 2011 shows are on sale now, priced from £35: but apply below and you could be one of five lucky winners who wins a pair.
The celebrity dancers will be joined in Manchester by host Zoe Ball, who came third in the 2005 TV series, and TV judges Len Goodman, Craig Revel-Horwood and Bruno Tonioli.
Speaking ahead of the live shows, Oldham-born Hollyoaks actor Ricky Whittle said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing Live. I’ve already dug out my sparkly shirts and started practising my dance moves – I’m hoping to give Colin Jackson a run for his money”.
Attracting over nine million viewers each week, the eighth series of Strictly Come Dancing is currently being screened each weekend on BBC1. The television series, sold to over 30 countries, has been named the world’s most successful reality TV format by the Guinness Book of World Records 2010.
