The NME says that The Enemy are “The kind of band we’d been praying for since the day Oasis went to seed”. Meanwhile our friend Paula Stewart, down at Barfly, is getting all excited too. “I told you so,” she says with a sigh.
In fact lots of people are bigging up the Coventry trio, and today you have the chance to see what it's all about. We are giving away tickets to see them in action when they play Liverpool on Good Friday, April 6.
Having carved their name as one of 2007’s finest emerging bands with the Stiff Records singles 40 Days & 40 Nights (1,000 copies sold in less than a day) and It’s Not OK (all 5,000 copies sold in less than a week), The Enemy will release Away From Here on April 16 as their first single on Warner Bros. Records.
Produced by Barney, Away From Here is described as “a gritty blast of raw energy infused with a true pop melody”. The band will release their debut album later this year.
