IT'S time to gear up for another fun-filled rally at RAF Woodvale with a wide range of attractions and displays to entertain visitors this summer.
And public camping is back for the August 1st and 2nd show, after being withdrawn last year.
Now in its 38th year, the rally at RAF Woodvale continues to go from strength to strength attracting more than 50,000 people every year.
This year as a result of the current climate show organisers have taken extra measures to ensure that visitors have an affordable weekend by reducing ticket prices and providing more free attractions for children.
Also new this year is a Motorbike Display Area featuring vintage and classics through to modern motorbikes as well two displays on both days from famous stunt rider Neil Porter.
The portable track of the Gauge One Model Railway Society will see working steam engines, there's a model aero show, vintage and classic car rally, a colourful kite festival, morris dancing, country market, autojumble, car boot sale and craft fair.
For the younger members of the family the free attractions include The Crazy Bears, miniature train rides, the Paper Wizard, who creates origami animals and birds, Tinder Box, mask making and painting. There is also a fairground.
Other highlights include motorcycles and military vehicles, model car and aircraft display, Rolls-Royce, Merlin and Griffin Aero Engine Display, model boats and railways, stationary engines and a car restoration workshop.
There will also be a wide range of bands on both days including a Cliff Richard look-a-like, The Savoy Jazz Band and Juke Box Eddys, playing hits from the 50s and 60s. Laurel and Hardy will also be spotted around the showground.
The weekend will come to a thrilling finale on Sunday at 5pm with a breathtaking 20-minute Battle of Britain pyrotechnic display.
Tickets in advance for both days are £8 for adults, £4 for children, £7 for OAPs and £20 for a family ticket. At the gate adults tickets cost £10, children £5, OAPs £8 and a family ticket is £25. Gates open on both days at 9am and dogs on a lead are allowed.
The rally is just a few miles from Southport with access directly off the A565 (Liverpool to Southport) with ample free parking and a continuous Vintage bus service to and from the car park.
